My masculine side{Not to worry, I'm still girly}

I am in love with manly furnishings. Does that sound odd??? I've always been attracted to the 'frenchy, linen-y, white, clean, rustic' decor,

 but after scoping my own pinterest board{and my home} I realized I am very much attracted to the dark woods and grey walls, the big chesterfield sofas, and yes, the deer antlers. :)

But just like with almost everything, there should be a balance and these next few rooms have done just that.

 They are the perfect balance of finished and polished, glamorous, and chic, but mixed with rustic, lived-in, and manly!

I'm so thankful my husband gives me full reign over what goes in, on, and around our home. But I think he's thankful that I'm not overly girly
otherwise we might have some serious issues. ;)

What;s your style? Do you like the masculine look, or do you tend to go for more feminine?

Future plans

living room

Here is my living room......sort of! I have several pieces already and plan to get the rest that's on here. I have these gorgeous horse prints from my photographer friend, but still need to have them framed. That might take a while since custom framing is a ton of money. I already have the cowhide, dresser, and bergere chairs. I actually found a white sectional on craigslist a couple weeks ago but I low-balled the lady too much and she chose another lady. boooohoooo! Did I mention the worst part was that it was only $200??! I know, I love a deal so much that even when I find a steal on Craigslist, I still try to take them down. Sad, pathetic, dreamer? Anyways, hopefully I can find one soon cause I'm totally not diggin' the one I have currently.
See what I mean?
My current dilemma is which sconce I should place on either side of the TV....if at all all. I'm not for sure set on sconces but it would be nice to have additional accent lighting in there. Any ideas?

Colored Denims: 2nd look

sophisticated colored pants

 striped top skinny jeans |  Shoes Collar necklace | Watch | Feather necklace, |  Leather belt | ALDO Tonai

This is the second look for the green/minty pants. It's definitely more sophisticated and appropriate for most work places. {Then again, I stay at home with my kids, so what do I know. :)} I love that you can take a piece and give it completely different looks. I purposely added a brown bag with the b&w top to modernize it a bit. Black and brown always compliment each other, in my opinion. The black is tied in with the Zara heels so it's not too funky. You can wear the blouse tucked in or out. I would probably choose untucked. I'm not as comfortable with tucked in shirts; makes me feel old........?

                           What do you think?

Colored Denims

one pair of colored denims

Tank: heather grey shirt  | Colored denims: skinny jeans | Wedges: high heel shoes | Clutch: clutch handbagRubber watch | Ring, $12

I am loving the colored pants/denim trend this year. Today, I'm showing you the typical, everyday wear of these pants. Easy and laidback with a cool tank, but polished 'enough' with some wedges. I threw in a sequin clutch to add some punch, giving it a more playful girly look. Tomorrow, I'll show you the dressier, more conservative look with these pants.

Would you wear this outfit? Would you change anything about it?

Fall easy

If you look on my 'Momma Chic' Pinterest board, you can tell Fall(meaning FL winter) is my season. Living in Florida, there's not much layering you can do during the summer, and fall colors are more me: Browns, Neutrals, Ivories....so when July hits, I'm already searching and planning my Fall/Winter wardrobe.

One of the biggest trends we're going to see this next season is the classic button-down blouse. I found some really great tailored ones in an assortment of colors at J.Crew. They're the perfect staple piece to have for many years. Whether loose or tight and tailored, it looks put together without trying to hard. You don't need to, but adding a chunky armparty and thick wedges modernizes the typical preppy look. Although, I am loving the layered look{Knit over button-down}
